What do I need to vote?
To vote, you need a voting pass and proof of identity. Your proof of identity must not have expired for more than 5 years.
You will receive your voting card at home
You will receive your personal voting card at home. The voting passes will be delivered to you no later than Wednesday, October 15, 2025. However, not everyone will receive a voting pass for these elections. For the elections to the House of Representatives, the following Requirements apply:
- Voters must be 18 years of age or older on the day of the election;
- Voters should not be excluded from the right to vote;
- Voters are of Dutch nationality;
Your voting card has a unique number. The voting pass is proof for the polling station that you have not already voted at another polling station. Your polling card shows the address of the polling station. If you want to vote in another municipality, you can apply for a voter ID card.
Voting pass not received or lost?
Without your voting card, you cannot cast your vote. It is possible to request a new voting pass. You can request a new voting pass in 2 ways.
Written
In writing, this can be done by Friday, Oct. 24, until 5 p.m. at the latest. The application must be accompanied by a copy of a valid identification document. The application form can be downloaded from the Rijksoverheid website. Be sure to apply on time, mail delivery may take longer than usual.
The written request must be received by the municipality by Friday, October 24, at 5 p.m. at the latest. You can also drop off the form at the reception desk at our offices in Brielle, Hellevoetsluis or Rockanje. Addresses and opening hours:
- Brielle, Slagveld 36 Monday through Friday 8 a.m.-12 p.m.
- Hellevoetsluis, Oostzanddijk 26 Monday-Friday 08.00-17.00 and Thursday evening from 18.00-19.30 hours
- Rockanje, Raadhuislaan 6, Monday through Friday 8 a.m.-12 p.m.
In addition, starting Oct. 16, you can also apply for your new voting pass digitally. After you complete the online form, the new voting pass will be sent to you.
Personal
If you prefer to come in person, you can do so until noon on Tuesday, October 28 at the latest. You can stop by without an appointment at the Department of Civil Affairs at the town hall in Hellevoetsluis to request a new voting pass. Please bring a valid ID to this appointment.

- Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Do you find your old voting card after applying for a replacement voting card? Then you can no longer vote with the old voting card. Please note that a new voting pass cannot be issued on October 29, 2025. You may not vote without a voting pass.
Voting with an expired passport or ID card
Your proof of identity must be expired for a maximum of 5 years. 'Valid until' should read Oct. 30, 2020, or a date after that.
Do you have no proof of identity or has it expired for more than 5 years? And you can no longer apply for a new proof of identity in time? Then you can ask someone else to vote for you with a written proxy.
Identity card stolen or lost
Has your ID card been stolen or lost? With a declaration of loss, issued by the municipality, you can still vote. In that case, also bring a pass with your photo. For example, a personalized public transport chip card.
Have you moved recently?
The address at which you are officially registered on the day of candidacy determines in which municipality you can vote. For this House of Representatives election, the day of nomination of candidates is September 15, 2025. Your voting card will also be delivered to the address where you are registered at that time.
