Elections, making statement of support
By submitting a declaration of support, you indicate that you support a party participating in the elections. You can submit a declaration of support at the town hall of Hellevoetsluis from Monday, January 19, through Monday, February 2, 2026.
What you need to know
A statement of support is required in the following cases:
- the party is participating in the elections for the first time;
- the party failed to win a seat in the last election;
- the party did not register a party name (blank list).
Who may make a statement of support?
You may make a statement of support if:
- the party you want to support wants to run in the election;
- you may vote for the elections in which the party wants to participate;
- You are registered in the municipality of Voorne aan Zee;
- you do not make more than 1 statement of support.
How do you make a statement of support?
- From the party for which you want to fill out the statement, you will receive the "Support Statement" form. This includes the party's list of candidates.
- You complete the statement of support. Note: do not put your signature yet. You will only do that at the counter at City Hall.
- You must submit the declaration of support to the Civil Affairs Department at the town hall in Hellevoetsluis. This can be done from Monday, January 19, through Monday, February 2, 2026. 2025. This can be done during the opening hours of the Civil Affairs Department without an appointment.
- The official checks your identity and whether you meet the Requirements for making a statement of support. The official also checks that the statement of support is properly completed.
- If everything is correct, the official will sign the statement and return it to you.
- It is up to you to ensure that the statement of support is returned to the political party you wish to support.
Bring:
- a valid ID;
- The completed but unsigned statement of support.
