Invitation to Rockanje open house: ‘Working together to create a recognizable and attractive village center’
The municipality Voorne aan Zee residents and entrepreneurs to an open evening about the future, image, and quality of Rockanje.

The walk-in meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 24, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at 'De Stuifakkers' at Briggemandreef 2 in Rockanje. Together, we want to think about how the village can be given more color, atmosphere, and cohesion, in keeping with Rockanje's status as a modern seaside resort.
Follow-up on Rockanje's future prospects
The future perspective 'A beating heart for Rockanje' was previously established by the former municipality of Westvoorne. This is now being continued thanks to a financial contribution from the livability funds of 'Netten op Zee'. With the relatively small budget, a smart approach was sought that would achieve as much as possible and lay the foundation for the future.
The approach consists of:
- Creating a mood board and color palette for Rockanje, as the basis for a new look and recognizable style;
- Selecting projects that contribute to improvements in public spaces in the short term and in a visible manner. Examples include improving the route from the city center to the beach (beach promenade).
During the open house, there will be an information market where you will be guided past various panels to get an impression of the different possibilities. We would love to hear your ideas about, among other things, the future colors and materials of the Rockanje village center. What contributes to greater cohesion? And what do you think are the most important opportunities in the short term for these themes/to create greater cohesion? Your input will help us to take targeted, achievable steps that will make the village more attractive and recognizable, step by step.
What happens to the proceeds?
The ideas and input from the evening will be incorporated into a mood board, color palette, and an overview of concrete improvements that can be implemented in the short term and make a difference.
