Future-proof clubhouse for VV Rockanje
On July 8, 2025, the city council adopted the recommendation of the college, to provide one million euros for the renovation and expansion of the clubhouse of soccer club (VV) Rockanje.
In doing so, the municipality supports the association in its growth and social role within the community.
The association is struggling with an outdated building, including a temporary outbuilding that has serious defects such as leaks, mold and poor insulation. This not only hinders the functioning of the association, but also poses health risks.
The renovation plans provide for a sustainable and future-proof clubhouse that is in line with the association's growth, partly due to an increase in female members. It also takes into account planned field renovations and the corporatization of the management and maintenance of the sports fields.
With this investment, the municipality emphasizes its commitment to providing quality sports facilities and supporting the importance of grassroots sports. As a sports club, VV Rockanje fulfills a social function as a meeting place for young and old. By making money available, the municipality wants to contribute to the continuity and future of the club.
