Westvoorne Sportive

At Westvoorne Sportief, people of all ages can exercise in a fun and enjoyable way. Sports at Westvoorne Sportief is an outing you look forward to every week!

Throughout the week there are various classes, such as yoga, Belly Butt Legs workout, Zumba, street dance and Kick it. All classes are taught by certified instructors.

For all ages

Classes are suitable for all ages, including those 55 and older. You decide how intensively you exercise. This makes the classes accessible to everyone.

Classes are held at De Merel in Rockanje and at De Meander in Oostvoorne.

Tennis is one of Westvoorne's most popular sports. We always say, "You're never too old to start playing tennis! Want a fun way to keep exercising later in life? Then consider playing tennis at TV Oostvoorne.

Starting to play tennis

Do you want to start playing tennis (again)? Then it is fun to do this together with one or more buddies. This provides a lot of fun and sportsmanship.

Playing freely

Members of TV Oostvoorne can play free every day.

Groups

Several 55+ members (men and women) form their own groups with which they play tennis each week. You can join a group whenever you want.

Private lesson

We also offer private lessons. You then play at times you agree with your tennis instructor.

Toss morning

Every Monday from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. we play tennis with a group of people over 55. Anyone can join, regardless of fitness or age. The elders in this group are 80+.

Club nights

Tennis instructor Remco van Reek organizes club nights several times a year. On these evenings all members can participate in matches. Not yet a member? Then you are welcome to join. Rackets are available.

Gymnastics Association RTC

Ladies fitness training for 55+

During fitness training, all muscles are addressed. We always start the class with a warm up. This way we warm up the muscles and increase the heart rate. The warming up consists of walking, step or aerobics. 

We end the class with a cool down. This is different every time. Think for example of relaxation exercises, badminton or a game. Are you physically limited? Then we adapt the lesson accordingly. This way everyone can participate!

GALM 50+ (women's and men's mixed)

GALM puts seniors in motion. GALM stands for "Groninger Active Life Model" and is aimed specifically at seniors. It is a varied program with a variety of sports and games, such as:

  • Gymnastics
  • Batting
  • Volleyball
  • Field hockey
  • Badminton

Classes are taught by specially trained instructors. In addition to exercise, sociability is also a high priority. At RTC, you not only get fitter; you also get more social interaction!

Sports Foundation Your Own Path

Sports Foundation Your Own Path offers various sports classes and courses for seniors.

Balance Training (6-week course)

The Balance Training Course teaches you how to fall safely and avoid accidents.

The following topics will be covered during the course:

  • Balance and equilibrium
  • Coordination
  • Muscle power
  • Responsiveness
  • Learning to fall safely (falling backward, forward and sideways)

Balance Training (individual lessons)

You can also take Balance Training every week. Each week we work on your balance and poise. Your physical therapist can refer you to this workout.

There may be times when we run a course at the same time as the lessons. There are then two instructors present. This way you are assured that you will be well guided.

Stay Fit (for 60+)

Stay Fit classes are sports and games classes for ladies and gentlemen aged 60 and older. The classes are designed so that everyone can participate.

Do you enjoy playing sports with peers? And do you enjoy meeting new people? Then you are welcome to join our classes.

Sports Memory Training

Sports Memory Training is a group class where we do movement and thinking exercises. This is how you keep your body and mind fit. This benefits your memory and concentration.

During class, you will train different pieces of your memory:

  • Spatial understanding

Judo for seniors

Did you used to practice judo? And is it becoming more difficult to practice the sport due to your age? Then join judo for seniors!

Judo for seniors is especially for people who want to do judo in a responsible way. During class we pay close attention to your posture and technique. We practice different kata's and there is room for randori. You can join the lessons at your own level. We take into account any physical discomforts.
