Demolition notification building or part building
You usually do not need a permit to demolish. However, you often need to report the demolition to the municipality.
You file a demolition notification in the following cases:
- demolition will release 10 m3 or more of waste
- during demolition you remove asbestos
Demolition notification and environmental permit
You will also need an environmental permit in the following cases:
- demolition work on a recognized monument
- demolition work on a building in a protected town or villagescape
- demolition in violation of zoning plan
If protected species are present in the building, for example bats, house sparrows and/or swifts, you will need an environmental permit for a flora and fauna activity. You can apply for this at the Omgevingsdienst Haaglanden.
If you are going to demolish within the built-up area of Hellevoetsluis, Oudenhoorn or Nieuwenhoorn, you can use the area-specific exemption from the municipality. You will need to have an ecological work protocol drawn up by an ecological consultancy firm, which describes the Requirements of the area-specific exemption.
For more information see below under 'Important preparation' or contact the (ecologist of the) municipality. You can also contact the city ecologist if you want to use the area-based waiver.
