Save the Date: Open Monument Day on Saturday, Sept. 13
Dozens of monuments in Voorne aan Zee will open their doors during Open Monument Day 2025. From fortifications to lighthouses: a unique opportunity to view these special locations from the inside. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.

What is there to do do?
On Saturday, September 13, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., dozens of monuments in Voorne aan Zee will be open to the public. Think mills, barracks and other historic buildings. Participating locations can be found in Brielle, Hellevoetsluis, Oostvoorne and Rockanje.
Open Monumentendag is part of the European Heritage Days. Throughout the Netherlands, thousands of monuments open their doors to draw attention to our heritage. Volunteers with their stories and hospitality ensure that this heritage stays alive, also in our municipality.
Theme 2025: Heritage and Architecture
This year's national theme is "Heritage and Architecture. Each monument tells a story about style, era and function. Get on your bike or go on foot and be surprised by the diverse offerings in Voorne aan Zee.
Join the photo contest
Are you creative with a camera or smartphone? Then enter the national photo contest. Capture your favorite monument and have a chance to win great prizes, including a €250 photo gift certificate and publication in the Journal of the Cultural Heritage Agency. Entries can be submitted from September 13 to 17.
