A group of council members from Lisse municipality recently visited the Fieldlab in Oostvoorne. This is a unique location where sustainable and innovative projects are tested. The council members were curious about the latest developments, how the Fieldlab came about and how it works. Alderman Peter Schop welcomed the council members and officially opened the visit.
Twice a year the municipality of Lisse organizes tours for council members along innovative projects. This gives them the chance to get inspiration and take away ideas that could possibly be applied in their own municipality.
During the visit, Pieter Bakker of the Fieldlab gave a presentation on ongoing projects. For example, he talked about a small floating windmill, the POND project that measures water quality, and the development of artificial 3D reefs.
The Fieldlab Green Economy Westvoorne is an initiative of the Municipality of Voorne aan Zee. Together with schools, research institutions and companies, it works on sustainable solutions for energy and water. The Fieldlab is a space for experiments that help make the economy and nature in the region better.
