Award KMRD for four rescuers
On Friday, November 14, Mayor Scheepers presented the bronze medal, an award of the Royal Society for the Rescue of Drowning Persons (KMRD), to four rescuers. After Ms. Vondeling-Sprang hit the water in May of this year in Hellevoetsluis with her mobility scooter, she was rescued from the water by four people: Ms. Brokaar and daughter Fem, aged 9 at the time, and Mr. De Bruin and Mr. Hoogstad.
During a coffee moment earlier this year, Mayor Arno Scheepers had already thanked Ms. Vondeling-Sprang's rescuers for their valiant action. To give this heroic act the appreciation it deserves, the bronze medal was now also awarded. The rescuers received from Mayor Scheepers the bronze medal with the accompanying certificate of the KMRD. This took place in the presence of Mrs. Vlasman of the KMRD and Mrs. Vondeling-Sprang.
About the KMRD
