Environmental Vision Westvoorne 2030
The "Westvoorne 2030 Environmental Vision" was adopted by the former municipal council on July 5, 2016. On January 24, 2017, the council adopted a supplemented version of the vision, including the entire Annapolder. The environmental vision can be viewed on the RO-Online website. What is an environmental vision?
The Spatial Planning Act (Wro) is currently the main framework for spatial planning. The Wro stipulates that municipalities lay down long-term spatial policy in one or more structural visions. However, the rijksoverheid is working on a structural revision of several laws concerning the living environment. The goal is to combine these laws, including the Wro, into a new law; the Omgevingswet. The Omgevingswet is scheduled to come into force in 2021. On July 1, 2015, the House of Representatives passed the Omgevingswet .
Because the Wro will merge into the Omgevingswet, the instrument structure vision will also disappear. The national government does recognize that it is desirable to lay down long-term policy for the living environment. The Omgevingswet contains the environmental vision instrument for this purpose. The environmental vision provides spatial policy, but can also contain other policies relevant to the living environment. Think of environmental policy, municipal water policy or the policy for roads and parking. In the view of the national government, however, the environmental vision goes even further. For example, an environmental vision can also contain policy on facilities or social issues. The Omgevingswet requires municipalities to draw up an environmental vision, which topics it will cover is up to the municipality itself.
Environmental Vision Westvoorne 2030
The Environmental Vision Rural Area covers the entire outlying area of the former municipality of Westvoorne. The vision prepared by Westvoorne provides a look ahead to 2030. The vision will therefore mainly be in force after the Omgevingswet enters into force. Partly for this reason, it has been decided to already set up the vision for Westvoorne as an environmental vision. It has been decided not to include all policy for the living environment in Westvoorne in the new vision immediately. A growth model has been chosen, in which the vision can be supplemented or expanded in the coming years depending on the wishes and needs of our municipality.
