New homes for Vierpolders: municipality and Ressort Wonen start collaboration
The municipality Voorne aan Zee housing association Ressort Wonen are starting a collaboration to build new social housing in Vierpolders. The plan focuses primarily on seniors who want to move to affordable and suitable housing. In addition, five temporary flexible homes will soon be available for people who need a home quickly. These flexible homes will also be managed by Ressort Wonen.
The municipality Voorne aan Zee taken an important step forward for housing construction in Vierpolders. A letter of intent has been signed with housing association Ressort Wonen for the further development of the De Tiende Penning project. This means that the municipality and Ressort Wonen will jointly examine whether it is possible to build new social housing here, especially for elderly people who want to move to a suitable and affordable home.
Construction of social housing
The intention is to build around 20 new social housing units on the site of the former primary school building on D.C. Meeslaan and surrounding plots on Veckdijk.
Alderman Bal (spatial development) is pleased with the construction of new homes for Vierpolders: "In addition to social housing, we are looking into whether there is also room to build mid-range rental homes with an average price range, so that there is a varied supply that meets the housing needs in the village."
The future homes are intended for seniors who are moving out of single-family homes. The possibility of single-child families living in some of the homes is also being explored. The coming period will be used to further develop and test the plans. The municipality will regularly share progress with the residents of Vierpolders.
Placement of flexible housing
In addition to building rental homes, after a long period of preparation, five flexible homes will soon be constructed on Provenierstraat in Vierpolders. These temporary homes will be ready for use at the end of February. Housing association Ressort Wonen will manage these homes for a period of ten years.
Alderman Jan Spoon (housing): "With social housing and mid-range rentals, we are making housing accessible to everyone. For the residents of Vierpolders, these two projects mean more opportunities for affordable and suitable housing close to home. In this way, we are actively contributing to solving the housing shortage and keeping Vierpolders livable and future-proof."
The flexible homes are intended for first-time buyers and people who need housing quickly. Refugees and displaced persons, such as Ukrainians, are not eligible to use these homes. The addition of these five flexible homes provides extra temporary housing within the municipality.
