What is the coastal pact?

The Coastal Pact is a place where the parties involved share information and consult each other. In this way, governments, entrepreneurs and nature organizations can keep a close eye on what is happening and work together on solutions that ensure growth of the economy while protecting nature and the landscape.

The current Coastal Pact (2017-2025) expires at the end of this year. Because tourism and recreation on the coast are expected to continue to increase, 55 parties involved have decided to move forward together. The new Coastal Pact focuses on finding a good balance between tourism, recreation and the economy of the beaches, while preserving the main qualities of the coast and the living environment.
