Civil Affairs Desk/KCC in Brielle makes way for rental apartments for seniors and first-time buyers

On February 1, 2026, the Civil Affairs/KCC office in the former Brielle City Hall will close its doors. The building will be repurposed. Thirty-one lifetime-proof rental apartments for seniors and affordable housing for first-time buyers will be built. For this renovation, the municipality must vacate the building by April 2, 2026.

The Civil Affairs/KCC counters in Rockanje in Hellevoetsluis will remain available for residents to apply for and collect travel documents, for example. This can be done after making an appointment via the municipality's website. Alderman Peter Schop: "Residents of the former municipality of Brielle can now go to Rockanje or Hellevoetsluis, which will take some getting used to. Fortunately, travel documents and driver's licenses are valid for a long time in most cases. This means you only have to make an appointment once every ten years."

Investing in residential property

With the construction of these 31 new rental homes, the municipality Voorne aan Zee is Voorne aan Zee housing for residents. "In this case, it concerns homes for specific target groups: the elderly and first-time buyers. With this, we want to get the flow of elderly people in the housing market moving and give first-time buyers a chance," says Alderman Daan van Orselen. On January 29, the municipal council will make a final decision on the loan that will enable the construction of the homes.
