Come play on the renovated play island in Lake Brielse Meer!
The renovated island "Het Meerkoetplaatje" in Brielse Meer is now a play island for children. Come to the grand opening on Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.!
The small island 'Het Meerkoetplaatje' near the water playground in the Brielse Meer has been completely renewed and transformed into a real play island for children. We will celebrate this with a festive opening on Thursday afternoon, July 3, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. Everyone is most welcome!
What can you expect during the opening?

- Adventure games on the beach
- Race across the new playground equipment with a fun prize for the fastest!
- Something tasty to eat and drink, because celebrating makes you hungry
It will be a fun-filled afternoon for young and old alike. Bring your friends, family and neighbors!
What has been renewed?
- The old playground equipment has been replaced with brand new equipment.
- A rope bridge now connects the water playground to the island (it replaces last year's draw ferry).
- All mooring facilities for boats have been removed, leaving the island accessible only to adventurers.
The redevelopment of the Meerkoet plate is part of a larger project to improve the recreational areas of Brielse Meer and Bernisse. In addition to the play island, jetties and banks will also be refurbished. This work will start soon so that everyone can enjoy nature and recreation in the region even more.
