Who is eligible for a royal honor?
Anyone may nominate a candidate for such an honor. The nominee must have made a long-standing, exceptional contribution, for example, within the community or to society as a whole. This typically involves a period of at least 15 years. The nominees are often volunteers active in the fields of sports, the arts, culture, the church, foster care, and so on. You can also nominate someone who has achieved something or made an effort that is particularly important to society. This might even involve going above and beyond in a paid job, where the work benefits not only the company but also society as a whole.
