Rent increase 2025
Every year in July, housing associations are allowed to adjust the rent. This is how the government has determined it. The government sets the maximum amount by which the rent may increase. Tenants have now received an overview of the rent adjustment as of July 1, 2025.
The cabinet has made a proposal to freeze rents for 2025 and 2026 in the Spring Memorandum. This proposal still needs to be approved by the 2nd and 1st chambers before it is final. A lot of objections have already been raised, so there is a chance that this will not become final.
Woonbedrijf is required by law to send the annual rent increase to tenants before May 1. Therefore, tenants received a letter announcing the rent increase effective July 1, 2025.
Should the Cabinet's proposal become final, tenants will of course receive a correction from Woonbedrijf. As soon as more information is known we will inform our tenants.
