Housing international staff
In addition to the tourism and recreation sector, greenhouse horticulture makes an important contribution to the local economy of Voorne aan Zee. Keeping this economy vital requires additional workers from outside our region and national borders. To give these (often temporary) workers a good home, structural housing is needed. Housing that is currently insufficiently offered within our municipality.
Request in principle submitted
On December 11, 2021, a request in principle was submitted to the municipality by Supermart Beheer B.V. and Islandplant B.V.. In this request they make a proposal for the realization of a good place to stay for temporary workers in the greenhouse industry. It concerns a residential park where a total of 352 people can live close to work. The location (see photo) is on the edge of a glasshouse area.
Have a say in the proposal
Should the college make a positive decision on the proposal, the initiators Supermart Beheer B.V. and Islandplant B.V. will contact interested parties according to the participation guideline included with the Buitengebied Westvoorne Environment Plan.
