Pick up free compost on Saturday, March 28
Residents of Voorne aan Zee pick up free compost on National Compost Day, Saturday, March 28.

The municipality distributes one bag of compost per household. You can pick it up at one of the recycling centers.
- The recycling centers in Brielle and Oostvoorne are open from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- The Environmental park Hellevoetsluis is open from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- We have plenty in stock, but once they're gone, they're gone.
Organic waste bins and bags
This year, we’re also handing out compost bins and bags. These allow you to sort kitchen waste—such as food scraps, peels, and tea bags—right away. These are available while supplies last.
From food waste to compost
With this initiative, the municipality is thanking residents for properly sorting their vegetable, fruit, and food scraps. Properly sorted organic waste can be turned into compost. Did you know that a full organic waste bin can yield as much as fifteen to twenty kilo ? The better the waste is sorted, the higher the quality of the compost.
Compost is ideal for the garden. It naturally improves the soil, helping flowers and plants grow better. It also helps regulate the soil’s moisture levels. When mixed with garden soil, compost is suitable for all garden plants.
