Celebratory moment: preserving historic cultural heritage with purchase of Korenmolenerf in Oostvoorne
The Municipality of Voorne aan Zee has purchased the Korenmolenerf with residence in Oostvoorne.

During a celebratory moment on Friday, July 25, on site, Alderman Els Priester of the municipality and members of Foundation to Support Restoration Mill (S.T.O.R.M.), among others, were present to mark this important step.
The purchase protects the historic value of the Corn Mill and the surrounding area. Heritage tells who we are and where we come from and connects us as a community. Not only has the Wheat Mill property been purchased, but also the accompanying residential house. The intention is for this to be put to social use. What the most appropriate use will be will be carefully examined in the coming months.
Alderman Els Priester expressed her enthusiasm for this acquisition during the signing ceremony, "This purchase has a double value. We preserve the Wheat Mill, a historic gem in our community, for future generations, and the dwelling house can play an important social role."
The Corn Mill has had an important role as an educational and social meeting place for many years. The S.T.O.R.M. Foundation has dedicated itself to the preservation and operation of the mill since 1998 and can continue this mission after the purchase. Together with the municipality, the foundation will further develop the mill yard and make it accessible to a wide audience.
