Mayor urgently closes home on Schorpioen in Hellevoetsluis

Police found a drug lab in a residence on the Schorpioen in Hellevoetsluis today. Mayor Arno Scheepers subsequently decided to close the residence urgently. How long the residence will be closed is yet to be determined. 

At this time, police are conducting further investigations. Once the investigation is complete, the home will be closed and sealed. Mayor Scheepers commented, "Producing drugs in a residential area is illegal and also incredibly dangerous with many risks for the neighborhood. Thanks to good action by the police, this drug lab has been dismantled so that the neighborhood is no longer at risk.
 

The decision to close the property was made under the Opium Act. The mayor can close a property after finding drugs to end the situation and restore safety in the neighborhood.
