Mayor Presents First Driver's License Box

Mayor Arno Scheepers presented the first Driver’s License Box today to 17-year-old Frederique from Oostvoorne. She passed her driver’s license exam this week through the NXXT driving school. The municipality Voorne aan Zee this gift to all young people who pass their driver’s license exam for the first time.

The Driver’s License Kit includes helpful tips on road safety, a congratulatory message from the mayor, and useful extras, such as a parking disc. Mayor Scheepers emphasizes the importance of road safety: “Getting your driver’s license gives you more freedom, but also a great responsibility. I want to encourage young people to participate in traffic safely and respectfully. That way, they protect themselves and others.”

Road Safety Among Young People

The Driver's License Box is part of the #impact program, developed by the South Holland Regional Support Agency (ROV-ZH) on behalf of the Rotterdam The Hague Metropolitan Region (MRDH).

This program aims to raise awareness of road safety among young people. This is urgently needed, as every year in South Holland, 2,200 young people aged 16 to 24 are involved in traffic accidents.
