Fire drill dunes Oostvoorne on Sept. 20
Do you see smoke above the dunes of Oostvoorne on Saturday morning, September 20? Then rest assured, because the fire department will be practicing fighting wildfires.
In Voorne aan Zee , we have many natural and dune areas, which are vulnerable to wildfires during prolonged drought. It is therefore important that the fire department regularly practices fighting natural fires. Saturday, September 20, between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., the fire department is therefore practicing in the dunes near Oostvoorne.
Don't watch the drill, but give the firefighters some space!
During the exercise, firefighters use smoke machines, which allow smoke to be visible. Straw bales are also set on fire. Arrangements for this have been made with the area's wildlife manager.
