Auditoriums cemeteries Brielle and Rockanje closed due to modernization

Starting Sept. 29, the auditorium of the Brielle cemetery on G.J. v.d. Boogerdweg 35 will close its doors.

The congregation is completely modernizing and preserving the auditorium. During the month of October, the building will be closed and the facilities will not be available. Funerals, however, can take place in the cemetery as usual. One option is to use another catering location.

What will happen?

The auditorium is being completely renovated. We are painting the interior and exterior in natural colors, laying new flooring and installing new furniture. This will create a softer and lighter interior that provides a homey and warm atmosphere.

We are making the building more sustainable by taking it off the gas, using solar panels and switching to LED lighting. We are also expanding the digital capabilities with a large screen and control panel. This will allow relatives to enrich a funeral with photos, videos and music. In the same period, we are also making repairs to the asphalt paths at the cemetery in Brielle.

Rockanje to take turn in November

In November, the auditorium in Rockanje at Dirk van Voornelaan 16 will also be renovated. Since the facilities there are already more modern, the renovation is less extensive. We are modernizing the auditorium with new furniture and two large screens for better audiovisual capabilities.

The auditorium in Rockanje will be closed in November. However, a funeral can take place in the cemetery as usual. Next of kin can use another catering facility.

Oostvoorne

There have been plans to renovate the auditorium at the Oostvoorne cemetery at Voorweg 33a for some time. However, the building there is so outdated that renovation alone will not suffice. Early next year we will demolish the current building and construct a completely new one with modern and sustainable facilities.
