75-plus transportation pass ends Jan. 1, 2026

The Voorne aan Zee Zee City Council decided on Nov. 6, 2025, that the 75-plus transportation pass will end on Jan. 1, 2026. The scheme was an extra service provided by the municipality, but not a legal task. The municipal council made this decision during the discussion of the municipal budget for 2026.

What does this mean for current pass holders?

All residents who currently have a 75-plus transportation pass do not have to do anything themselves. The municipality will provide a careful transition period and review with residents whether they can use collective transportation through the Social Support Act (SSA)

  • The current pass remains valid through March 31, 2026.
  • During the period from January 1 to April 1, 2026, a Wmo counselor will investigate whether the current pass holder is eligible for collective transportation through the Wmo.
  • The municipality itself contacts residents who have a 75-plus transportation pass about this.

Letter to all pass holders

All pass holders will receive a letter within two weeks of the council decision explaining what the change means for them. The letter also states that they can continue to use their current pass through March 31, 2026.
